Three months of travelling, adventure and voluntary work for young people who want to experience and learn about Africa. You get it all – Tanzania’s nature and wildlife, tribe culture, the language and an introduction to Africa’s history.
Week 1- 2: Arrival at Dar es Salaam city and transfer to the base camp located at Mbezi beach. The first week is to get to know the area and learn basic terms in the Swahili language. The second week is experiencing on safari in the Ruaha Game Reserve, animals in their natural habitat and doing community work in Dar es Salaam.
Week 3: Work in community schools. Visit the Coral Islands at the Dar es Salaam marine park.
Week 4-7: Volunteer work in community schools (nursery, primary and secondary level) and a three days tented beach camp trip. Visit the famous Makonde tribe shopping village to find paintings and handcrafts. Then at the end of the week participants go to Arusha.
Week 8-11: Arusha is a vibrant colourful city in Masai land. Our partner runs vocational training programs for the Masai that include daily tasks, arts, languages teaching and health issues. Live with the Masai and learn their unique culture from natural herbs to cattle keeping and dances. A safari trip is organised to N´gorongoro crater.
Week 12: Back in Dar es Salaam for a few days. Then to Zanzibar, and visit white beaches and Stone Town, the old and cultural centre of Zanzibar, to get acquainted with the old Afro-African culture, spices and fruits.
Tanzania has around 32 million inhabitants with 120 different tribes, all with their own language and traditions. The main language is Kiswahili but in most towns and in tourist areas people speak English.

• Awareness of the various health risks that can exist in Africa
• Age between 18 and 30 years old
• Vaccinations: Hepatitis, typhoid, yellow fever and malaria preventatives before leaving
The program has duration of twelve weeks. Groups depart beginning of January, April, November and end of June, September. Groups are a mix of nationalities, 18-25 years old. Group size is from 5-15.
Different types of accommodation are provided during your adventure and voluntary works in bungalow, tent, lodge.
Included: Airport transport, accommodation, food and filtered water, program transport, safaris and trekking including gate fees, at the Masai land camping equipment needed, team leaders at the work places and guiding for the other programs
Not included: Airfare, Visa fees, Travel insurance (mandatory), drinks, bottled drinking water & some meals, sleeping bag, tips for guide & drivers, personal expenses
