Welcome to China, home to one of the oldest civilisations and cultures in the world! Obtain a unique understanding of the Chinese culture, society, mentality and way of life. Above all, you will not only learn about the Chinese culture, but most importantly learn to understand the world through their eyes as well.

Your First Week

We strongly recommend you join our orientation week which takes place in the bustling city of Shanghai. This week allows you the time to settle in to China before you start your placement. Meet other like-minded volunteers from around the world to share your volunteer experience with! 

Life as a WEP Volunteer

All volunteers will stay on site or in our volunteer house for the duration of the program. Choose from four different locations to teach English and contribute to meaningful community projects. Choose from four locations for a very rural or very modern volunteer experience: Shanghai; Zhengzhou, Henan Province; Suzhou, Jiangsu Province; MianYang in Sichuan Province.

Program Fees

Included: Preparation and assistance in Australia, placement in project, airport pick-up, travel and health insurance, administration fees, mini orientation upon arrival, accommodation on site or in volunteer flat for duration of program, meals during volunteer placement (Mon – Fri), local assistance, access to activities proposed by overseas organisation, program supervision and emergency service.

Not included: airfare, visa costs, spending money
